Britney Spears has been cleared by the SPCA of all charges relating to her doggie-maiming incident. Contrary to previous media reports, the pup did not suffer a broken limb while trying to avoid a subpoena.

Apparently the incident occurred when someone stepped on the dog's leg while walking into a closet. I don't like to spread rumors, so I'm not even going to speculate on who that someone was, what young children were involved, or why they were locked in closet.
